I simply have no need for the functions of a smart phone. I don't dispute they have their uses for employed people, but that's not me. As is, I almost never use my dumb phone to call anyone, maybe a few times a month; I mostly use the text function for family and a few others. I have better things to do than play with a phone all day. If I need more than call/text, I have a computer.

Agreed, mine is switched off for whole swathes of the day, people want to speak to me they can find me or ring my door bell, else the phone ends up ruling your life, I miss my samsung slide with just keys.

It is handy to have a camera with you when out and about. Texting is easier, too, with the qwerty touch screen than with the old tapping up to 3 times to get the letter you want.
