up to her?
Any particular reason why you'd like to know?
I saw one ladies ID card and saw it listed her as Mrs. I asked about it, and she said she was divorced but kept the married designation. Just seemed odd to me.
Possibly true. Common not to change name in Thailand when divorced. Up to her. No law says she must. Can cause problems though if she has different names on property deeds and other official documents such as passport.Originally Posted by gingsa

She will, indeed.
If OP is interested in verifying her statement then ask to see.
I too lived with a Thai woman who kept the Mrs designation. Her husband has been killed in a motorcycle accident and she had a massive scar on her neck to prove it. She changed it back to Miss along with her maiden name when she felt like it. Yes, she did have to get a new passport and ID card, and change the name on the land that she owned, and it was a lot of needless work for her.
