Are the in-laws classed as relatives?

The missus and I are planning a trip back to the UK early next year.

They have just come out with an all new singing and dancing visa form.

Part of the form asks if she is going to visit any relatives in the UK. She is going to see her in-laws. Do they count as relatives in the eye of UK immigration. We are planning on staying with them as well. So does that mean that we have to apply for a family visa now and not a visitors visa?

    Any ideas?

I'm making the visa form a fillable form under adobe acrobat. Once finished I will upload it somewhere for eveybody else to use.

    Yes they are.

FCO just got back to me.

The in-laws do make it a family visa.

Also means it's open for appeal as well.

You mean, if they say no the the visa, you can appeal, whereas a normal visitor's one you can't?

    Yes that's correct.

They actually answered the email I sent weeks ago.

Just after I spent and hour typing out the form last night. Oh well.
