    Making a Will

I guess Williams mum and Dad did the obvious but I am talking about making a will, like what my grandma did, ensuring that if I peg it that my posessions/money go to those I love who are less fortunate than I.

The Phuket crash and the Phuket tsunami and a bike crash I saw in Phuket are all things that have made me want to sort this out, and I want to know how I can have a will (with the option to update AT EASE) and without having to go back to the uk and see a solicitor with my birth cert and passport and a load of bolliks.

Can't I just write it and email it to my brother or something?
"I'm an outsider by choice, but not truly. It's the unpleasantness of the system that keeps me out. I'd rather be in, in a good system. That's where my discontent comes from: being forced to choose to stay outside.
My advice: Just keep movin' straight ahead. Every now and then you find yourself in a different place."

I doubt a downloaded will, filled in and signed, would hold any water in any court. Hell, how much you worth Scamp? I'll do it for you, naming myself as the sole beneficiary of everything but your Aardvark Muffdive stories.
At very least it will need to be notarized.

I made my will in about 20 minutes in an attorney's office. It's not difficult and very cheap.

Wills in England only need witnessing by two people, they don't need notorizing. In Thailand, does the same apply?

^Thailand is a somewhat more complex process that requires, among others, registration of the will in certain cases.

    I would agree with William.

There are many things to think about: your asset in Thailand and in your country. Different laws in both of them, etc. What about taxes? It all depends on your asset and what do you want to do with it. William's article is one of the best I've read in Thailand about wills here.

And there are requirements EVEN if you write it by yourself. For example, you can't write a will on your computer and sign it in Thailand. But you can HANDWRITE it and sign it.

You must know which of the three forms of will you want to do: olograph, with 2 witnesses or in front of a public officer. If someone else write your will, it must be written if not, it can be void. So, be VERY careful if you download a will on Internet.
