I am already in LOS, I thought I would not be here that long, but I have found extra time ( got laid off) So I will stay longer. I am in Changmai now. will go to BKK in a couple of weeks, then Isaan. I guess, I can go to Lao, from isaan. if I must. someone told me I can only get 1 week extension, now that I am here, if I want to not leave country.

Depending on length of time you want to stay and the time on your visa, if you got to go up to Issan anyway, go on to Nong Khai and cross into Veintaine and get a tourist visa, it will take 2 days, one day to put it in and then pick up the next day before noon, at least that how it used to work, I havent done it in years,
I always paid one of the guys at a table out front to do it for me and they would do the line thing and deliver my stuff to my hotel the next morning and we would come home.
That will give you 2 months with a 30 day add on that you can request, so 90 more days in all.

Depends on what kind of visa you entered Thailand on. If a transit stamp (30 day stay) then I believe the most you can get is a 6 day extension. If a tourist visa (60 day stay) you can get a one month extension.
