Thread: Shoestring Renovation.

We are tiling the entire house, 98.7 sqm of tiles. After extensive searching we purchased the tiles yesterday 1-10-58/15 (Thai date style).

Total cost for tiles, "glue" and grout was 16,560. The "glue" was quite expensive at about 360B per bag.

My beautiful wife chose the decor (mostly- some was joint effort)

Labour by a tiler, 9,870 (100 per sqm) village tiler 7,896 (80 per sqm). Looking at the work of both and a discussion with both, took us in the direction of the "tradie".

So we have not been entirely true to our "shoestring" principle here.. But, if YOU saw the difference that we saw, perhaps you would go down the same track...

Paint (undercoat) has been purchased and we found a 20L bucket reduced from 1020 to 680B so we got 40 litres.
