I forget to ask what operating system ițs on

How do I get round that.

Cheers mate, I think Ill show him ophcrack

    ^
Cain & Abel is a bit more complicated to use than other password recovery apps
He would give Butterfly a run for his money, so its gotta be Ophcrack

The Ophcrack Windows password cracker is by far the best free Windows password recovery tool available. It's fast and easy enough for a first time Windows password cracker with a basic knowledge of Windows.

With Ophcrack, you don't need any access to Windows to be able to recover your lost passwords. Simply visit the site, download the free ISO image, burn it to a CD and boot from the CD. The Ophcrack program starts, locates the Windows user accounts, and proceeds to recover (crack) the passwords - all automatically.

In a test on a Windows 7 PC, Ophcrack recovered the 10-character password to my administrator account in 40 seconds. Ophcrack supports Windows 7, Windows Vista, and Windows XP.

you can download some Recovery tools in Linux that will "cleanly" reset your password on a Windows NTFS partition

RescueCD is one of them, you boot on the CD drive and you can change your Windows password with the small utility, and it's free

so easy that even Android harryB could do it,

Sorry if I'm being thick but I can't get ophcrack working.
I have downloaded the iso file.
    Unzipped it
    Burnt it to DVD
    It doesn't boot.

    What am I doing wrong?

Is the DVD drive set as your primary boot device?

Look during power up for something like "F8= Boot Order" and if that isn't there, "F2=Setup" and look for boot order.

Then make sure your optical drive is the first in the list.
