    problem with windows 7

    Morning all ,
    On my previous laptop - which ran on windows xp - I installed a very good Thai / English talking dictionary .
    Unfortunately the laptop was stolen and my replacement - which is running on windows 7 - will not run the same programme .
    The download seemed to be ok , it just wont run it .!!
    Any advise would be greatly appreciated .

    Which Win 7 are you using Rawky, if as said above it has the compatibility mode function follow this guide.

    Compatibility Mode - Windows 7 Forums

    Alternatively use XP mode if you have win7 pro or higher.

    Does it use Visual Basic or Visual C++ Runtime libraries?

    If so, you have to download and install them.

    Read the FAQ.

    don't listen to the nerds, get rid of Win7, it has no advantage over WinXP except for the Mac user interface,

    Ignore Butterly, he's a witless fucker who once again is giving bullshit advice because he's not very bright. This will not run on Windows XP either if you don't have these libraries installed. It is not a problem with Windows 7.

    Download this and install it.

    Microsoft C++ Runtime Libraries

    You may then need to re-install the Dictionary program, but try it first, as the reason it's failing is that it needs these components and they are not installed on your Windows system by default.
    The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth
