    bringing computer hardware into LOS

I want to bring a new 1TB SATA II HDD into the LOS for a friend, will there be any problems with doing this with regard to customs? For anti-theft reasons I will be carrying this item in my hand luggage and it will be contained in a sealed anti-static bag.

    Many thanks for any feedback,
    MH.

Depends on what they find your "friend" has put on the hard drive.

Very unlikely it will even be searched (they'll probably toss one of your checked bags into the x-ray machine before you depart the customs area)- I've brought a lot of electronics stuff through customs over the years, and I've never had a single problem.

I do it all the time, they couldn't care less, unless you look suspicious and they want to make your life miserable

Butterfly usually spends at least 2 hours in customs every time he arrives in Thailand

That's because he always requests the cavity search though.
