    Fan replacement for desktop

One of the fans in my desktop PC is making a disturbing noise and seems to be in its death throws ( but still turning ) How much do these things cost to replace ? Cheers.

You could start by opening the case and cleaning all the hair, skin, insect debris and other various detritus that general blocks the things up and causes this problem.

You can also take the layer of crap off the motherboard as well, it insulates the chips and makes them run hotter, shortening their life.

    Have a read of this:

    About 100 baht
Dead easy to change if it's a case fan

Thanks Harry but already done as you suggested so it looks like a replacement would be better.

a good one for 450 W is about 500 THB, and will be silent and effective

the cheap crappy noisy ones are about 150 THB, they last about 2 years

I went through 10 of them already in 5 years

Eh, please explain, never seen fans advertised as "to suit 450W"

I use Yateloon fans, they are effective and silent.

I think Butters is referring to power supplies.

Which is probably why he's gone through ten in the last five years.

I think he needs to go to a new tech guy.

LOL Pickel, yeah that makes sense, no idea how he gets a PSU from a fan request though ??

And yeah, fuck putting a 500b PSU into a PC, thats just screaming to be a hardware killer.

Butters, I think it's time you stopped trying to pretend you know what you are talking about.

the cheap crappy noisy ones are about 150 THB, they last about 2 years

I went through 10 of them already in 5 years
So even though the cheap ones last about two years, you go through 2 a year.

    What a dumb fuck.

Only Coolmaster V8 system with a transparent fan case will do.

I am sorry dude, I am not gamer, but you are right 450W is light weight for a powerful machine with a lot of storage

for a personal PC, non-gamer, should be good enough

Well they don't, because remember he thinks 100Mb = 1Gb.

My intel quad-core 2GB RAM machine ,after 6 months, the 450 W blew. 3 months later another 450 W goes. Needless to say upgraded wattage after that.

Not under warranty or did you build it yourself?

Not much memory there, according to Butters you only have 200Mb RAM.

^ Built it myself, same as the AMD X6 pic above. Also had it serviced a few times in Thailand. No doubt the underlying cause of all my computer problems is user issues but I like playing with the shit, which is why Butters hates me so much.
