Something funny up with my computer. On restart, I get a page up before Windows XP loads telling me there's something wrong with the computer clock, do I want to enter Setup (F1) or do I want to continue normally (F2). I tried (F1) and got a blue screen with all sorts of options, but I noticed that the computer date was set at 00.00 1 Jan 2002. I fixed it, Windows booted normally, and everything was OK.
The next time I switched the computer on, however, I got the same screen telling me there's a problem with the date and time. This time I clicked (F2) and Windows booted normally, but the clock time was back to 00.00 1 January 2002. I fixed it again by right clicking the time and altering the date and time.
The question is, what's causing this and how can I fix it permanently? A quick look at Google says it could be the battery on my mainboard needs replacing. WTF? Didn't even know there was a battery. So is this the only possible reason for the weird clock thing, or could it be something else?
