    Skype for Android

Skype is finally available from the Android Market. Calls over both WiFi and 3G are supported, except for users in the USA who can only make calls over WiFi.

You need to be running Android 2.1 or later, and screen resolutions of less than 480 by 320 are not supported. There have been some reports of people not being able to sign in, however this was fixed on my HTC Desire by rebooting the phone.

Apparently Skype won't work on the Samsung Galaxy S at present, however some users have reported that upgrading to Froyo fixes this...

More info at skype.com (sorry, can't post the link due to low post count)

There's IM+ from ShapeServices but it's pretty crap...

Tried it on my 8520 but could't have the microphone and speaker active at the same time, had to hold down a physical button while talking - fark that for a joke

The CPU on most BBs is pretty slow, perhaps lack of processing power is the reason a 'proper' client isn't available?

Practising a bit of SPAM prevention perhaps? It's only a few posts, not too much of a pain in the arse...

How'd you go with Skype Harry?

Working well for me in general, had to reboot the phone a couple of times after the app hangs and hopefully they'll add bluetooth support soon.

    Good quality over 3G also

My lad's just got a Dell Streak, so when he's back for half term I'm going to test it with him, from one local provider to another.

I'm not optimistic that the crappy 3G we've got here is going to work very well, but I'll report back.
