I think that if, for the same money, you can get a faster processor, 17" screen, double the RAM and a terabyte hard drive, your definition of "overpriced" and mine differ greatly.

horses for courses HB, I've never maxed out 4GB of RAM and I want something that's usable on the go so for me the advantages I listed outweigh having a bigger screen & HDD

helps that I have a few TB of storage on the network and a 32" LCD while I'm sitting at my desk too

I travel with a 2Gb Atom-based Netbook and Win 7; does what I need on the move.

And they're almost a pittance these days.
