Is there one?

I am talking about the full Adobe Acrobat, not just the reader

I would like to edit pdf files, remove pages, rotate pages etc but can't afford 500 bucks or so for Adobe Acrobat.

A torrent that works would be another option ofcourse, but so far no luck as they all seem to have viruses attached.

Try Foxit. YOu can get a 6 month free trial of the editor.

Didn't like it myself, but does the job.

No problem with the Adobe torrent, but mine came with a patch that raised a false-positive; click ignore and off you go. As for the program itself, the only problem I've had was after an update.

The torrent for Acrobat 8 Pro works. The ones I've seen for 9 don't.

Why not buy a copy at Pantip and Tucom? Should be 100-500 baht depending on the number of discs.

The Panthip CD's have sometimes a virus as well, why not try Nitro PDF Professional? Much smaller foot print and available on torrents.

There may be something I've been missing over the years. Visiting and resident friends buy software/music from the street, knowing it is pirated, but balk at downloading via torrent even if I offer to download and burn for them.

Torrents are free, convenient, don't rely on CD/DVD integrity, and are also safer since there is the benefit of comments made by others that have already downloaded.

Is one less illegal than the other?

Absolutely correct, just take the time and go to the comments, if there's anything you'll have the remarks there!

Call me Mr. Picky, but when you asked for "free alternatives" to Adobe Acrobat, I assumed you didn't mean "where can I get Adobe Acrobat for free?".

Why not buy a copy at Pantip and Tucom? Should be 100-500 baht depending on the number of discs.

Because the flight to Thailand would cost the same as buying the software

Half of these I haven't even heard of, then again I don't really create PDFs other than by using CutePDF's Printer Driver.

I'd "green" you but I haven't got a clue how to do it.

I use this at home. Great little utility for creating pdf multipage docs.

So far trying out the Nitro PDF software it has been able to do everything I need. And no difficulty getting a torrent or getting the keygen to work.

I have Adobe 9 pro. It seems capable of much magic but we've never used it for more than reading and saving as word or text files.
