    Not worth it now.

Better get a laptop PC. For a little more than a mini you get a Corei with blueray, etc etc and Windows 7. You can take it with you and when in the house you can plug in to a nice big screen.
Acer coming out with some nice Corei. Doesn't make sense to buy Apple at the moment. Especially now with Windows 7.

You have a small caliber rifle? Draw a big target on that shit.

The speaker drivers on the iPhone 4 has moving parts.

I have had DELL and a Macbook, Dell is good value for money but the fan noise on my model (not a dell netbook tho) is driving me crazy One good thing about apple computers is that when the cpu is not under stress they are virtually silent.

That just means battery backup. Did you have a surge protector?

UPS usually has surge protection built in, still, it could have been a fault with the power adapter...

His UPS most likely had surge protection.

You may be a victim of a "brownout". Or just shit Apple products.

Don't know about Dell, but had a great experience with an Acer Travelmate. 3+ years old and working like Day 1.

Go ahead if you want to take it in. But,

Keep in mind they maybe switching the hard drive and putting it in a refurbished unit, or giving you refurbished motherboards.

Also, DON'T let them convince you to buy a new one. A Mac Mini is not a smart buy considering the PC options nowadays.

    i agree,
apple made a mistake by not including an i3 or i5 in the mini, instead choosing to use a core2duo... its going to turn a lot of people off

I suspect that's what they did last time, it has been Apple official policy for quite a long time, that is to repair something with parts from other broken computers that have been fixed. So instead of fixing the issue, they replace it with a "fixed" MB so the components that carry the problem are still there, but they don't take the responsibility for it if it fails again
