    iDisabling retarded crApple imail

I was on a website and I wanted to contact them, so I clicked on where it says English email, and then this box opens up saying:

Jesus fuckin H, Mevbot give me a gun!!!

I am very happy with my Hotmail account and have had it ten years and I do not appreciate Steve Jobs trying trying to hold my hand all the time and wipe my arse for me - how the FUCK can I disable crApple's cnuty version of email and just find out what the email address is on the website that just has a link saying English Email.

What would happen if I clicked that on a Windows/PC? ...Would it auto open my Hotmail page? Wouldn't have a problem with that, but I'd rather do it the old fashioned way and have my Hotmail open in one window and the website I was looking at in another window, and the website would simply have an email address listed on the contact page like most normal people do and I would simply copy it and paste it into my Hotmail compose bar, but no - Apple has to dance and wave it's arms and get out the iLube and massage my rectum when all I want is it to give me an email address!

if you hover over the english email you will see it is an emailto: link and you should be able to see what the email address is

do a "view page source" and then do a search on "mailto:"

alternatively, you could upgrade to FireFox and dump stupid Safari

Its just a link that will open your mail client, on Windows it would open Outlook/Thunderbird/whatever on a Mac it will open the Mail app.

Its just asking you to set up the Mail client so when you click these links it opens automatically, its not asking you to set up a new email account with Apple or anything.

For example I have 10 email accounts, rather than opening each one individually I open Mail.app and it checks all 10 accounts and downloads them to the app to view/reply etc.

    I'm confused.

I'll get a good nights sleep and try to figure it out in the morning.

maybe right click on it and 'copy link location' , then paste into your email or a text doc if you want to save it.

unfortunately, you can't do that on a mac, that feature isn't available yet, but will be in the next release of OSX

I discovered the other day that you can actually set up your Mac email client to connect to Hotmail. On snow leopard, at least.

Surely you just go into your browser settings and choose your default email setting, no?

    I'm scared by this thread!

GS, that is your email client or application that has come up. On a Mac it's called "Mail"...original name I know....on a PC it is called Outlook.

It is not an email service. That is called .Mac or mobile me.

Here is a nice video about how to set up your email client, called "mail"....Apple - Mac

Watch it, learn to use mail...

    Cheers Baldrick, have a green.

That eventually worked but I had to open the bulbous orange egg shaped mouse from Tokyo that I got as a Christmas present, my track pad has no right click.

Butterfly was right about the Apple mouse, it's laughably over fashionable and minimalistic. Apple does deserve to be mocked at times, just because I am a Mac user, doesn't mean I defend them all the time, Macs are not above being laughed at, I know that and so does Butterfly.

So I'm not a computer wizzkid, so what - I'm above most of you when it comes to scruples. Thick people can't resist an opportunity to poke fun at those from behind glass.

errrrr why don't you just hold the 'ctrl' button down while you click on the track pad if you want a right click option?

over the phone? interwebby ? or in person? either way I dont think I'd have the patience.

I reckon about 50% of your calls will start with "have you checked that the computer is plugged in ?"
