Thread: Best ISP for about 600 baht?

At the mo using true wi-fi which falls over every other day and when you ring the buggers up they tell you to restart the machine, ha ha. It is meant to be 3 meg but the download speeds are often as low as 10kbps, as for watching youtube forget it most of the time.
Anyone know of anything better?,actually i don't need wi fi anyway, there must be something better than this crap?? in bkk by the way.

I dont understand, your using True WiFi, are you leaching or do you have a True internet connection and accessing via WiFi ??

True internet paid up proper accessing via wi fi, when it works that is

I have True, 4mb connection. Works great! Download speeds are fantastic.

Same here, True 8 mb connection.
Just finished downloading Men Who Stare at Goats, 1400 mb file in about 20 minutes.
Downloading something more obscure (ie few seeders) can be however be frustrating sometimes. All in all I can't really complain too much though.

Im on True as well, mine is superb.

If its constantly dropping out and your getting shitty speeds (have you tested via speedtest.net) I would be getting true to have a look at the line.

signal is OK, I think I will just go over to the phone line on True instead, the wi fi is just too unreliable. On speed test it's normally about one third of what they claim.

So other than being a bit slower than spec the issue is the wifi modem/router rather than the actual service being provided.

Edit: it speedtests at 1/3 of the 3mb plan, is this over the WiFi or by lan cable ??

Most generally when you first get it it will run fine, then it starts to slow, and as they sell more sub. it gets slower and some say that they actually do this at time by slowing your connection speeds after a couple of weeks.
And I do believe they are capable of anything,,,,,except giving you what you pay for,, as is listed in disclaimer.

My last internet service in Bangkok was appalling. It turns out it was the shitty wireless modem they sold me, not the actual service.

Wi fi but it goes off for some reason at their end every other day and can take three or four goes to log on even when it is working

Sorry my bad, i read your post further up where you said the signal was ok as in the service was ok but the wifi was dropping out.

Yeah switch to land line. TRUE good service.
