How would they know if it takes them a whole day to decide how to burn a DVD on the thingy

You don't have to know such things if you are a Mac user.

and they say the Mac is idiot proof

and of course I was accused of being unreasonable when I exposed how the Mac is "clumsy" and not efficient for doing anything

This would have taken any idiot on a PC no more than 10min, even Scampy would have done it with less pain than it is displayed here

    Mactards, gotta love them !!!

come on Quack Quack, you are not being very Mac friendly here

what happened to your legendary "I want to help all my Apple customers",

obviously they are not geniuses, or else they wouldn't buy a mac in the first place (reminder: idiot proof), so they are probably more like Scampy than anything !!!

Yes, and now Toast is spending hours of encoding the .avi file, probably to DVD .VOB files..
There should be an easy way of just burning it as a plain file but Mac's takes too much for granted, in this case that all users wants to re-encode an .avi file if the media inserted is an empty DVD.
The price you have to pay for user-friendliness and idiot-proofness.

Bwahahahahahahahaha, fuckin retards trying to drive their idiot proof MACS.....

Re-encoding an .AVI to DVD (.VOB) then burning said dvd takes less than 20 minutes on a PC, for fucks sake even my PC illiterate thai missus can do it.

It's 6:20 pm and it's encoded 79% - I hope this works on my dad's laptop dvd player in the Isle Of Wight, I think he has a Compaq.

Macs aren't idiot proof, theyre idiot repellant.

As has been proven there's very little on this planet that's Scampy proof.

typical Mactard response, the problem is the conversion, not the burning

Just when you start to think that "Mactard" may be an unjustifiable term of abuse, along comes Scampy with the label stamped to his forehead.

you mean they attract all the idiots ?

couldn't agree more. It's their market target, and it works. Plenty of examples here: Scampy, Quack Quack etc...

    I quite like Wintard

I have to admit that burning a DVD under a Mac was a bit painful, I couldn't believe the shit I had to go through

I used the built-in burner just for the kick, it was a fucking disaster

all this could have been done simply under a normal PC in less than 5 min:

    Create Directory "VIDEO_TS"

open VLC, save as "Video - OGG" into "VIDEO_TS"

use braindead burner (NERO), burn folder VIDEO_TS into DVD

    Done

Someday you will all understand how profoundly true that statement is.

Disc is burned, sub standard quality but okay... It was simple to do, I had never done it before and wanted a simple solution.

    Cheers all.

    Yep. Much harder.

^ you obviously never created a DVD for distribution on a Mac, tard. See how it plays in Asia or Europe with a DVD player.

back to the server room, macboy

Just a pity it seems to take about 3 hrs to complete the encoding and burning.

One would think the hideous expense of MACS using all this superior technology (whoopsie, thats right my PC runs the same components) would be able to do the job quicker than a PC..............

not only is their user interface not functional (read clumsy), but in terms of performance they suck on all levels:

    - require more RAM than WinXP
    - more CPU power
    - serious overheat
    - exploding battery

Macs == Overpriced Gadgets for bored gay geeks living in a freezing server room
