    Are you VOIP ?

Internet Calling from normal home fone type

Dunno if it is that new but many use and talk about it back in Europe.

Those VOIP fones are very money saving for people that do call a lot abroad.

What you need ? You can buy a VOIP fone that will handle both type of normal call or internet calls, this by being a normal looking like home fone. One box to connect to the router will allow you to place cheap calls even if the PC is turned off, just your router is on...

The IP fone is a cheaper version of the similar, just handling internet calls... The VOIP handles the normal analogic calls and the internet calling...

One VOIP fone will cost around 150 USD or more and a IP will be around 100 USD...

They are not that much just plug and play, you need to feed some settings. You can choose what provider for what different country you call, to sort out wich is cheapest for particular area or wich has best line quality...

Téléphoner moins cher - Comparateur de prix VoIP here a link to choose providers...

www.voipbuster.com this provider cost 10 Euro for 6 month calling from Switzerland

Siemens Gigaset C 470 is a good one, as some users told me...

Anyone using this in Thailand or the Philippines ?

Are the sets available for those prices at Pantip or such, or should i buy it in Europe ?

I can get the phone, but I chose to use my PC with speakers and mike.
I use SKYPE and have a number that my calls go thru in Calif and you can call me at that number as long as I am online, or leave a voice mail and I will get it when I go online, and it is unlimited calls to USA and Canada for $30.00 a year.
To buy the phone from them was really cheap.

I use Nokia with the sip stack built in works good in some bars better than others with WIFI.
Once Thailand gets it's 3G sorted it will be a lot easier than trying to use fring on GPRS for the times your not in a bar.

The best ADSL modem/router/VoIP all in 1 box to get are the Billions 7404vgp I have you don't have to be a rocket scientist to work them out and you can have a heap of international incoming numbers on 1 line. 10 I think.
