Are they any good?

Whats the deal here? I get all my apps for free, I got this from TD already:
UsingMac.com - Mac Tricks and Tips, Wallpapers and Applications for Mac Users

Here's a good one I use:
Little Snitch
As soon as you’re connected to the Internet, applications can potentially send whatever information they want to wherever they want.
Sometimes they do this for good reason, on your explicit request. But often they don’t. Little Snitch allows you to intercept these unwanted connection attempts, and lets you decide how to proceed.
Little Snitch informs you whenever a program attempts to establish an outgoing Internet connection. You can then choose to allow or deny this connection, or define a rule how to handle similar, future connection attempts. This reliably prevents private data from being sent out without your knowledge. Little Snitch runs inconspicuously in the background and it can also detect network related activity of viruses, trojans and other malware.
It's free for the demo, you just need to restart it every three hours or buy it.
Fahn Cahn's

I have looked through them and there isn't anything thing there I think I would ever look at once downloaded but thanks to the OP for sharing - I am sure a lot of people are interested.

This is also good for locking files:
TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software for Windows 7/Vista/XP, Mac OS X and Linux
takes a bit to learn but easy enough with the help feature.
I like it, bought it last year. Worst the 29$.Originally Posted by Bung

For info, the same site is offering Virus Barrier X5 for free today.
MacHeist: Immunize your Mac
I thought it was interesting to share even if I'll not install it (I use ClamXav) to scan files coming from USB sticks or othe amovible medias.

Do mac users really need to worry about viruses?

^
Nope.
What is shovebox?
Nope - the only reason for Mac users to use anti-virus software is to clean the virus ridden files Windows users give them, and to prevent passing any of it on.
Personally, I really don't care if I pass on little gifts from Windows users to their friends -- all convinces how terribly great their platform is. Enjoy!

But it includes ClamXav Sentry, and that is.Originally Posted by Wallalai
