Thread: 'Falling' sound effect

I've Googled with a fine tooth comb and I really need a sound effect of an object falling from the sky - the same sound an anvil would make falling towards the coyote as he holds an umbrella in the Roadrunner cartoons.

I can't find it as a royalty free effect, could anyone help?

Or another idea may be to actually find a Youtube vid or download a cartoon with the exact cartoon sound effect you want, then play it whilst running and recording a free program called Audicity.

Or there used to be another one I used to use called Easy MP3 Recorder, I know you can at least download a free trail.

There is this, it's far from free http://www.soundeffects.ch/ if you are really serious but also you can get copy CD's of sound effects at both Pantip and Fortune Town

Thanks gj will give that a go also because the one I downloaded last night is okay but it sounds more like an air raid siren winding down than the wind whistling through the fins of a descending bomb.

Try finding a microphone with a long cable, hold it in one hand and jump off the View Talay condo in Pattaya. Don't forget to make sure it's switched on first.

^ I tried that this afternoon from of the Asoke Interchange building and it just sounds like wind noise.
