    Maxnet bait and switch?

I use a notebook computer both at home and at my office. At home I have a Maxnet connection at 100 mbps. At the office I have a True connection at 100 mbps and it runs fine. Recently my Maxnet line at home started running super slow, especially noticeable when logged on to TD. I called Maxnet customer service and they tried to get me to upgrade to 200 mbps. Is it possible for Maxnet to control speeds to individuals in order to get them frustrated as tactic to persuade them to upgrade?

Reboot your router so you get assigned a different ip, ips get overloaded.

Sorry DD, I'm a bit technically challenged. Do you mean that I need to do something with my Maxnet modem or something in my computer's control panel?

Same as you would your pc, reboot=turn it off and on, leave it off for about 30 seconds though.

ERRRRR: you DON"T have 100 MPPS - you have what you pay for and that might be 2 MBPS - 3 or 5 or more but never 100.
100 MBPS is the speed your router (or modem) could connect at highest speed.

ISP (Internet Service Providers) typically oversell their bandwidth by a factor of anywhere from 7 - 20 times throughput... In other words, you are paying a premium for travelling in the fast lane while traffic is so heavy that you can only go 40 kph...

I am surprised no one else is having problems with TT&T (Maxnet). TV has a huge thread devoted to this problem. They have apparently oversubscribed and everyone with this service is experiencing problems.
