    Psp 3000 Help!

No I've not managed to turn it into a brick, (not quite anyway).
Wonder if anyone here can help? I am sick to the eye teeth of trying to get help from the pre-pubescent geeks and their forums!

Basically, here is the problem -

I bought my son a PSP 3000, we got it loaded with Chick Hen, (no problems there, can boot it up) Then we have CFWE 3.50, the latest custom shit, No problem again.
Last night, instead of leaving the damn thing alone and going and enjoying SEX, I decided to mess around with it.

I loaded up POPSLOADER, and flashed a load of POPS files to it, (Downloded 5.00 Firmware and extracted the Pops files, and used psardumper to copy all the files I thought I needed)

I am running 5.03, Chick Hen R2, CFWE 3.50...I am at a loss!

Now, half of the games (PSX - PBP) cause the damn thing to hang and crash - where you need to reboot Chick Hen and CFWE!

They worked fine before I fucked with it!

I tried to reload and reflash the pops files tonight, but I noticed the last three or four files had errors.

When I go into CFWE, (If I had flashed everything correctly - apperently - I should NOT have the option of "FLASHING POPS", however, the option is still there, there appears to be a number of files missing on the PSP in directories that are empty but should not be!

Has anyone got any idea either

    a) How to get rid of the POPSLOADER/ POPSTATION FILES - I.E an uninstall.
    b) How to do it properly?

"Properly" would be better, but uninstall would do as previously these games worked!

    Thanks

And sorry if this is not the place to post my questions!

Lordy, Lordy, I got it fixed at Airport Plaza today, they re-formatted the memory stick, reloaded the software, and the CFWE and Bob's your Uncle, FOR FREE!
Then we "bought" I can't really think of a word to describe this...almost 30 games, (SONY MUST BE WEEPING) 8 on the memory card (ISO's) and a further 23 on 3 x DVD's (if you were to go by Robinson or Carrefour prices - 4K baht a shot - but they only like keep 2 UMD's..so what the hell) it would have been around 100K Baht, and the final charge was......200 BAHT!

There you have it, the greed of these corporations, the greed of the Customs and excise, and they have lost a fortune!!

Actually, I cannot work out if the guy is an idiot or a saint!
He obviously has either no business sense, or has a passion for piracy and free games.

He charges 50 baht - regardless of whether you buy one game or 100, he just doesn't seem to care or grasp the idea of making money - he is in the minority!

I initially asked him to download 10 games to the mem. stick, he told me to come back in 1 hour as it would take a bit of time ( we agreed on a price of 50 baht - which I assumed to be PER GAME)

When I came back, I looked at the games and there were only 5!, I asked what was wrong and he said the stick was full - OK fare enough, so I starts getting together 250 Baht, plus whatever he wanted to charge me for hacking the PSP.

The PSP Hack was FREE and the 5 games were 50 Baht!

Next time I visited Airport Plaza, as I said, he repaired the hack (which I probably caused - again for free) and then downloaded about 8 games to the mem. stick, and about 23 in total to 3 DVD's - each DVD was 50 baht, the mem. stick was another 50, yes it's very cheap, in fact embarrasingly so, if you look at original Sony games we probably got in excess of 50K baht's worth of games, for 200 baht.

The guy is the exception, not the rule! and he appears to me to have no idea of business, certainly no concept of time and money.

But what the hell, he has me as a customer for life, and maybe he'll get a Christmas bonus!

Not sure there, he only has a small stall and it says nothing about PC's.

If you are in CM and need a PC fixed, go to the Com Plaza, there are some real geniuses in that place, they'll sort you out. (not the first building as you approach from the CM RAM, but the second one, on the first floor)

I have had mine repaired there, if you need the info, send me a PM - What I would say however, is for god's sake, back up any photos or important data, as these buggers are rutheless and overwrite ANYTHING - I lost 10 years of photos, and was gutted, but he got the machine working, it was my fault I didn't back them up!

I would suggest removing the photos and anything else entirely - giving your computer full of your stuff to a stranger who then has full access to copy anything on it is the stuff that news stories are made of.

not just your personal photos can find their way online but cached personal information can be retrieved also - either remove the hard drive or if you can wipe and format it yourself before giving it to a repair shop.
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

You are not wrong there, sometimes you think you wiped the disk, but you have only wiped the headers, and the porno shots you took are still there! For everyone to see at a later date!
