    Help again...please (MAC)

    Guess who....

I recently brought the missus a bacbook (bloody awesome little machine too) and while setting it up noticed they hadn't upgraded the hdd like I had asked. The shop sent me out a new one to pop in piece of pie and then through some wrangling I managed to score the original at a nice price for my MBP (as it was a 120gb running on Tiger).

After a quick youtube tutorial on replacing the hdd in mine I had it up and running in no time, but.... I can't seem to change the "home" name from my wife's name to mine so has anyone got any suggestions on what I need to do? I did go into system>accounts and changed it so I am now the admin etc but that still hasn't changed the hdd. So if I go Mac HD>users I see see the house icon with my wife's name (hope that makes sense).

    Cheers for any thoughts.

well actually since I have swapped over the internet keeps crashing on mine although they are assigned different IP addresses I still wonder if its to do with the name - when I turned it on the first time it noticed B*** was already being used and said it needed to use B***-1

I also need to try to find oujt how to change the autofill as it tries to use B's details....

If you mean the icon like this

Then you cant just rename it on the icon as it can seriously affect the Home folder. The usual "dont blame me if your computer fecks up" applies here

    If you go to
System Preferences/Accounts and click on the lock icon to authenticate, then right click on your account name it will bring up the advanced options where you can either rename your Home folder or turn your computer into a handy, stylish yet expensive doorstop.

This is a method for LEOPARD 10.5.2 onwards.
