do you have a video card in the computer ?

if you are running it from the onboard video I suggest you go to the motherboard manuf website and get the latest drivers for the motherboard.

this may not help you in the end and you may need to put a video card into the machine - though your machine may not really have enough power to take advantage of the 22" at its native resolution. and a 5 year old motherboard will be AGP graphics card slot , or even PCI.

can you give us some more details of your system .
    Motherboard manuf and model
    ram
    cpu
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

I'll try - hopefully this makes more sense to you than it does to me:

Video Card: Chip type RADEON 9250/9200 Series AGP (0x5961)
DAC Type: Internal DAC (400MHz), Memory size 128 MB
    Font resolution 96 DPI

    Monitor Type: Samsung SyncMaster T220
Current refresh rate is set at 60Hz
    Mode: 1024 x 768 with 32 bit colour depth

    Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.80 GHz
    BIOS 512kB
Memory 1024 MB (upgraded from 512)
    Mainboard ASUSTeK Computer INC 'P4SD-LA'

Is this the type of info you needed?
