    Google Chrome Is Faasst!!

Much, much faster than firefox. Not a computer guy myself, they don't interest me that much. BUT...... I'd recommend a try with Chrome for anyone who wants a little extra speed.

SO was firefox,, originally. its all about being stripped down. once they add more features expect speeds to slow down!

chrome is memory hungry though - each new "tab" is a seperate application

google = the new evil empire

or thats what it seems like anyway

I've just added another 2GB to my machine, so I'll give it a try.

Yep..it's fast. It didn't import all of my bookmarks though and it sorted them alphabetically again. It also failed to open anything at first, but a reset of my router fixed that. Sods law I guess.

Ok, it's fast and it's crap. It has a very flat appearance, takes up too much space at the top of the screen, don't like the typeface, it only imported about half my cookies and bookmarks, my scroll wheel works down but not up.

PS. Firefox is crap as well. IE + Avantbrowser is the bees knees, mouse gestures and everything in that.

Some sneaky editing going on here, there was nothing posted between my original 4 posts, but Marmite merges 3 of them and KW gets one in before the 4th.

You are accusing someone with a 0.32 average of post whoreing?

I have this problem on this forum and others. I have to select "remember login?" and it settles it

I've recently switched to Google chrome from IE.

I like it- first and foremost it's a lot faster than IE, and on my Ipstar connection at least less downloads get frozen, or just don't work. More reliable, and faster- that works for me.

I also like the Home page that displays your most commonly used Web sites, which in practise is the lions share of my browsing. No problems copying your favourites either.

Some of the glitches mentioned above may have been in earlier, beta versions of Chrome. I made the switch all of two days ago, and am glad I did. With a dodgy Ipstar connection you need all the Browser help you can get.

Dare I say it - IE 8 is faster than Firefox.

I'll still use FF though as it has all the bells & whistles that I use for work.

I use google Chrome because it is fast, and very reliable.

I also like how google search is at my fingertips.

Same as every other browser. FF has Google, Yahoo, Amazon, Answers, Wiki & Ebay built in as standard.

You need something that is reliable, you ain't, you have promised to leave this site 37 times in the last 3 days and you just posted here again.

for someone that has been in the public baths with the tyrant of DPRK you seem very strange.

^What sites, and how is it unreliable?

I've had it crash once, since I've started using it a week ago.

Didn't the German government warn people recently against using the Chrome version as google can monitor everything you do on your PC?

I have the new IE 8 and it is as fast as Google Chrome, which I didn't care for.
But it has my smileys cut down to 4 on the quick post.

These are all I can get= and

Chrome renders fast, but as for downloading, your bandwidth is the bottleneck, rarely the browser. I used Firefox 3.5 and Foxmarks, which keeps my bookmarks synchronised across all of my laptops.

The Firefox default installation is not optimised. If you aren't a complete computer halfwit, then try the following link to make some changes that will speed it up:

If you are a halfwit, take a full backup first

Had an embarassing moment recently as Chrome didn't render pages properly, whereas all other browsers did. You'd think they'd get their shit together on this front, and I won't be using it again as a result.
