    New MacBook is crap!

The hard drive in my nifty new MacBook suddenly failed. I unplugged my Ipod and suddenly it froze never to restart. Took it in and the optical reader on the drive failed. It's still under warranty. But as I researched the issue I found this is an epidemic.
Now I'll to start from scratch on my puter again I hate this shit!

That's what I did last fall when I bought this one.
My G4 powerbook was working fine after 4 years and I figured it would be a good idea to buy a new one to back it up.
Now the new one failed while the old G4 soldiers on.
Crap is what the new one is!

I think that Scampy bloke had a few issues with his MBP as well. Im due a new one but might go for a desktop and keep the G4 as the lappie. No real point having two.

Depends what you use your computer for really. I'd only buy a PC to run Linux on now, wouldnt bother with Windows again.

    Why should that matter?

I can pull my MP3 player on and off my Nix and Win systems without it causing any problems. Even whilst writing files.

You can't pull Ipods off of windows machines like that, i've corrupted mine doing that before. It needed a chkdsk and repair before it would work again. Lucky i had a backup of my music.

I've got an I-pod in my shop which has been playing almost continuously 24 hours a day for 2 1/2 years. I'll occasionally dump the songs and reload them.

It must be a common thing aging one. I doubt you know me unless you work with me, I don't know any of the foreigners near where i live. Actually, they don't speak to me - the type that turn their heads or cross the road when you pass in the street.
