I switched to FF3 the other day. So far I'm liking it. It seems to run faster and more reliably than 2 did for me. I haven't use IE in ages. Overall I'm as satisfied as I can be with a damn 512k connection, with FF3 it seems youtube is working much better than it did with 2. TD is also running quicker for me now.
Just DL'd FF3 for this shitty home PC as FF2 just died.
This IE6 is wank.
I've just shifted onto FF3, Seems just about enough of my extensions work now to think about using it full time, just missing Tabmix plus, but that is quite a big miss. Seems a bit faster loading and all that and hopefully it's a bit more economical with memory and resources.
This AM got an update from AVG. After the install they required that I restart FF3. So maybe there was some conflict there on some systems. Suspect its been fixed whatever it was.

FF3's working well for me. Only one extension I couldn't get that I want - the RealPlayer download thingy that offers to save embedded videos to your pc. Guess it's just a matter of time.

Well, finally my FF3 is complete, thanks to thetyim for a link to tab mix plus

Seems to work fine![]()
cool. thanks!
Is there something similar to right clicking an image and uploading to say eg ImageShack.
I had that option in FF2, but its gone in FF3.
Is FireUploader the same ??
Fireuploader works, but upload to imageshack isn't there yet.
Thanks ^, haven't got my head round Fireuploader yet.
FEBE has also gone.
I have just wasted hours trying to turn off AUTO RELOAD.
Everytime I open a Tab it reloads it.
This has been driving me mad, you can imagine how long it takes if the thread has some pictures.
Well the answer is that FF3 doesn't have auto reload but if you install Skype then it will install an add-on without asking which fucks up FF3.
If you want Skype then do a custom install and refuse the add-on.
It used to install an add-on on FF2 as well. Cheeky cants.Originally Posted by Thetyim
I just noticed today when d/l some drivers that it does a virus scan on the files as well. Don't know if that is new, but I've never noticed it before.
Another benefit: If your computer crashes or you need to restart while FF is open, on restart it will give you the option of starting fresh or back to what you had open before the restart.
that's a really nice new feature, come in very handy if you have lots of tabs open.Originally Posted by Plan B
Since I downdloaded ff3 whenever I highlight text and then print selection my printer just spits out a blank piece of paper. And ff3 crashes quite regularly. Anyone else?

it crashed a bit when it was in beta form.
it came as the default browser with the new ubuntu operating system and was pretty crap so i used ff2 instead.
that was fixed before it was released for real.
I'm not sure if mine is still in beta form or not. I was part of the test thingy and my computer still sends back reports every time it crashes but I've not been notified yet that I have the final version.
Everything else about it is fine and I like some of the add ons.
^ And again, it's different to what the OP is getting by using IE.

Pros:
1. Lots of add on applications
2. Faster than IE
3. Starts where you left off when it crashes
4. You can save your tabs which are open
Cons:
1. Pages don't look the same compared to IE. (Depends on websites)
2. Memory hog
The main reason that I use FF over IE is password security. I can set up a master password on entering FF, if that is enterred correctly then when I log into all my subcribed sites then it enters my passwords for me.
IE will save your passwords, but they are available to anyone that uses your PC.
