I have an iPhoneXR (was company claimable and works easily with our Apple-only set-up) and an older Samsung Galaxy S10 - more than good enough - far more features than will ever be used.

Most of us would have started out with either Nokia or Ericsson ('septin fer the yanks) so why not stick with that brand - friends of mine have Nokias and are happy enough.
