^^ those pics gave me a hardon, and yes they are "real" computers, but we are talking desktop PCs here, not corporate servers
My accountant bought 1 of the first 3 'office' computers in South Australia. It took up an entire office and cost $96,000 back 30 or so years ago.
ILM used special liquid cooled computers for Jarrassic Park, anyway fuck that - Macs are better than PC's therefore Mac users are better than PC users and that's all there is to it.
I gotta go back to the fact that in three years of my girlfriend and daughter surfing the web and keeping contact with me via video chat, not once did we have anything more than a reading english problem. No down time, no system crashes, no viruses, and even with the reading english problem, the Macs are very intuitive to use. OS X keeps the operating system out of your face. It's with shear fear that I press the Yes button in an error window of Windows when it asks me if I really want to do that.
Macs are used extensively by graphic artists, CG for movies and animation and recording engineers and musicians. Who wants to be rendering a complex 3D animation and have their Windows machine freeze up and crash?
Where have you been ? this was true about 10 years ago, but not anymore.Originally Posted by slunky

That time is gone, no serious business is using Macs anymore. The days of Jurassic Park are gone for Apple computers like the dinosaurs
most designers are using mac. never heard one wants to go back to pc.
in fact if you compare the similar specifications between mac and pc, the price is not much different. apple recently is so keen in taking more slices of marketshare. next year, the price of mac will be even more affordable. what i can see, the strategy seems to work. we are tired of microsoft....
got to admit tho that browsing internet, pc offers more options.
Most Hollywood studios now use linux...

no, not most but some graphics designers are still using Macs but not because the PC doesn't have more to offer but because it's hip and cool to use a mac, goes well with their personalityOriginally Posted by pugforever
