Thread: Video Spliter please

Many editing programs require a lot of RAM and 99% of the decent programs are not free. The ones that claim to be are trials that leave a huge watermark on your edited or converted videos.

Torrent sites are not to be trusted for these type of programs so the best advice is to buy one. You can google the easiest ones to use. I got by ok with Wondershare editing and converting programs.

For just real simple converting to any format Freemake do a good program but again it ain't free.

I would advise at least 8gb RAM for smooth running otherwise loading and finalising your finished videos can take hours.

What do you mean split?

Do you mean they're on one long take and you want to edit them/ cut them into seperate films?

I'm a Sony Movie studio fan. I imagine they have a scaled down version as a trial.

Avid Media Composer now has a free version. You might not have heard of it and that'd be because it's a very professional product that's been used for Hollyweird movies, etc. The free version won't watermark or give you many ops, but it should split uploads in 1/2 easily enough.

Lightworks' free version could also fit the bill.

Windows Movie Maker was discontinued for updates by Microsoft at the WIN 7 stage.
That said, my version works fine on Win 10 for simple cuts, etc. It doesn't render the best quality, obviously. I don't know what you mean by "weird file definition." It's straightforward enough from where I'm sitting.

He means file type ie .avi or .mov

Have a look at Go Pros free editor- Quik. I dunno if it does what you want but its great for uploading vids or pics on your phone and sharing

i use it to clip the advertising from downloaded youtube music clips but it will do what you want

I think GoPro Quick will only work with files created on a GoPro.

Ive been using DaVinci Resolve lately. It's very powerful, and free.

I'd advise, but have no idea what the fok you're trying to do.

I think he means edit it to a length of his choosing. For example, if he had a 3 minute length of video but he's only interested in a 1 minute segment of it, he would want to cut the rest off leaving him with only that one minute segment.
