File Converter - .AVI .MP4 to 3GP ... alternatively, how to get cartoons on tablets

I'm trying to put some videos my kids like on their tablets.

We have the 10 hour flight back to the West soon and obviously no internet on the Plane.

The kids have really taken to their tablets ... maybe it gives them a feeling of independence, freedom of choice.

So, my first attempt to transfer failed, and I've learnt that these simple Tablets, 2 x Lenovo CE0560, won't play .avi or .mp4 files and use the .3gp extensions.

So, I tried the online one ... Get your converted file ... but it wouldn't download or play on my computer

I also tried to download two different file conversion programs ... but both of them didn't have that security certificate ... and I'm a bit weary of that.

So gentlemen ... how do I get a few cartoons loaded onto my kids simple tablets?

As always ... thanks in advance.

As an aside ... why doesn't the USA Spell-checker not recognise the word 'learnt' ?

Should not need to convert anything I don't think.

Can you not download the VLC app and play them through that app? Load the vids on the tablet in current format, open the VLC app and select the vid and play it. Easy as piss, or should be.

    .MP4 is probably the best

install mxplayer or VLC or even the native player on the tablet should play MP4

cannot find your Lenovo CE0560 tablet - but it may not be an Arm processor - it could be an x86

if you download from playstore it will give you the correct apk for your device

just copy to the tablet via a USB cable

if you download youtube videos with youtubedownloaderHD they will be in MP4 format - you can chose what resolution you want
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

    Thanks for the answers above.

apologies for taking a little time to reply ... had to un-glue the tablets from the kids hands ...

Still haven't been able to achieve the goal.

I found a .mp4 file, plugged in the tablet and got this.

Also, I was going to try and write the VLC program to the tablet, but I'm not sure of it OS.

I think I'm getting back to my original thought of converting files to the .3gp

    Thoughts/further suggestions?

Do you have the google play app on your tablet? Where do you down load your apps from?

You should be able to go (on the tablet itself) to whatever OS app store (on the tablet itself) and download VLC App straight to the tablet.

Meaning you plugged the tablet in to your PC via the USB cable, tried to drag the file to the USB Storage device itself (that annotates the tablet) and got that pop up?

i dont think it should say usb storage, im sure it should say internal memory.....double click that and see what folders are inside.

its probably because you are trying to save to the root of that folder, make a movie folder inside there if there isnt one and drag and drop to that folder.

if that doesnt work turn usb debugging on , to do that you have to be a developer, which is done by- ahhh i forget, JFGI

Easiest way would be to transfer to micro sd card from Utorrent folders using the laptops sd cards slot. Then remove and insert SD card into tablet. Give VLC player the directory of the SD Cards movie folder you created.

It's a painfully slow way of copying files.

The things have got card slots, copy the files to microSD cards and just plug them in.

    VLC will play them.

OK ... I Sort of understand most of what is suggested above.

Since I read the suggestions, I can give this feedback ...

I can see the options that Dillinger can see, and more.

When I connect the Tablet (USB Cable) as a Media Device, it isn't recognised as any drive by File Explorer on my computer.
I checked Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > AutoPlay and it is set to Open Device to view files (File Explorer)

When I connect the Tablet as a Camera, it sees like it did in my earlier post.

Other options are Charge only, Connect as a CD Rom and the USB debugging ... when any of those options are chosen it isn't recognised as and any drive by File Explorer.

As for putting microSD cards in the two tablets ... I have twin 3 yo boys ... EVERYTHING that you give one, you give the other.

I have one microSD card, from my camera, but not two and we fly fairly soon so won't have the time to be able to buy, download, install etc.

Maybe, I'll have to look deeper into it when I get back to the west.

    1. Start downloading cartoons of your choice from any torrent website.
    2. Go to pretty well any newsagents and pick up a couple of memory cards.
    3. When you get home, copy the shit you downloaded to the memory cards.
    4. Plug the fuckers in.

What airline are you flying? Don't they have IFE?

Here's a good one. I use it to convert kids toons from You Tube to MP4.

convert2mp3.net - Online Video converter - Convert Youtube, Dailymotion, Vevo, Clipfish and MyVideo videos online to MP3, MP4 and more formats

Put the YouTube URL in and choose the format you want it converted to. Send the files to your download folder.
