I say that because the first of three things required has happened already, and the next two are on their way.

The Samsung Gear VR is a $99 headset that works spectacularly well for the price.

The second thing is the arrival of the Samsung 360 Camera in the second quarter. This is going to revolutionise home made video and photography.

And Youtube have just announced the third:

360 VR streaming.

You'll be able to attend a concert halfway around the world and look around the room as if you were there, with spatial audio to boot.

Sports events? Results may vary, but certainly those cameras they hang over the pitch at football matches can go VR.

And F1 will again be testing VR cameras on the cars at the next GP.

Imagine doing a geography lesson at school and being taught about Africa - and then going and standing in the middle of a reserve?

The options are endless, and now it's really in the price range for consumers.

I'm telling you lads, this is going to be a game changer.

And don't even get me started on blueys....

Immersive video is gaining more features for YouTube viewers, 14 months after YouTube introduced 360-degree video support in March 2015.

YouTube has bolstered its 360-degree video offerings with its latest technical addition—live streaming capabilities and spatial audio.
The new features were unveiled in an April 18 post by Neal Mohan, YouTube's chief product officer, on The YouTube Blog.
In the past, YouTube content creators could create 360-degree content, but could not live stream it. YouTube first launched support for 360-degree videos in March 2015 and has continued to develop its possibilities.
With the new live streaming capabilities, content creators will now be able to add new features to their events from around the world, according to YouTube.
"And after years of live streaming Coachella for fans around the world who can't attend the festival, this year we're bringing you the festival like never before by live streaming select artist performances in 360 degrees this weekend," wrote Mohan.
