several reputable websites ( engadget sold out years ago ) have reviewed multiple VPNs for different content , speed and location
I would suggest people read them and decide which VPN service suits their needs better and then try them for a month or 3 and see it they work as per the box

Lots of free browser VPN's on offer like Browsec and DOTVPN .
If you want one for your PC then Cyberghost has a free version.
One othe cheapest I've seen is Pia at only $4.98/month https://www.privateinternetaccess.com but not as cheap as engadget.com
If it's for watching streams there's loads on Kodi and it's free where no VPN is needed
