    Panasonic video cam

Here's my problem and I've been all over the net looking for help.
I have a panasonid video SDR H80, have no idea where the videocam suite disk is, probably in Australia, where I bought the camera.

How can I get the video from the camera to the PC, looked for a free downloads everywhere, found none that work, Kickass has it, but no seeders.

Is there generic video software, or some other program I can use, it's a good little camera.

    Thanks for any suggestions. Jim

Have tried lots of things, none work, when you plug the camera in, the computer does not say new hardware, nor does it see in when you go to add hardware.
In my computer, if you click on the USB port, it says corruped or unreadable data.
Camera works fine, but windows movie maker can't see it and I have tried a few video capture programs, seem no good on panasonic.
Will just have to slowly try more video capture downloads and hope.

One site, guy says he's a camera expert and you have to buy a new disk to reload the program.
Cheers all for the suggestions. Jim

If you are going to ask people for assistance, it would at least be courteous to read what is offered.

    Update Procedures
    VideoCam Suite2.0 update method

Login the computer using the administrative account. Terminate all active software.

If VideoCamSuite2.0 has already been installed in your PC, uninstall it and then reboot your PC.

Thanks, but it doesn't work, I'm missing something software wise, computer can not read the camaras data [video/ photo's] it could be the computer, it's not actully a normal PC, but a xpreditor, which was used for multi terminal internet games.
I need some sort of software that lets it see the camera and I'm not a computer guy.

After days of looking and downloading, looks like it's a no go without a new disc, where I'd get one, no idea.
Only way around it, may be, is to burn straight to a DVD, they say it can be done if you have a compatable DVD burner.

Did you even read what I posted in #16?

Although the link is an Update, it's for a clean system. It specifically tells you to remove the existing Suite before proceeding.

Have you actually tried installing it from that link?

It's 150Mb so I don't think it's what you perceive as an "update".

what kind of media is IN the camera ? seems to be fucked for sure, so will need to be reaplaced. If media is soldered inside the camera (some do) and there is no other source of storage, then you are fucked.

either way, it's not software, it's hardware

get a new media to put into the camera if the internal media is already fucked

you might also want to read this:

How to Import Videos using VideoCam Suite
    ftp://ftp.panasonic.com/camcorder/ho...ite_howto.html

the camera seems to have a HDD and external slot cards

get a new SD card for a start, the internal HDD for storage is probably fucked
