    Ants in My Desktop Computer.

About 4 weeks ago I was having Connection problem so when the Red Cross followed by the spinning blue circle came up on the Internet Access icon I clicked on DIAGNOSE, it came back with an error saying the cable wasn't plugged in. I checked the ethernet wire and my Modem was alive with tiny Red Ants.I unplugged it and gave it a good spray with some Insecticide Sprays and a few a few hours all was back to normal,it also says its residual last up to 4 weeks and so far no problem.
Then about 2 weeks ago my computer started playing up again and this time the Ants were in the Desktop Box,I switched it off and gave it a good spray and in the morning all was OK. Today my Samsung Monitor went crazy and again Ants were seen crawling all over the back of the Monitor.
Why do you think Ants are attracted to my Computer,I don't eat at the desk it is on....... so what are they looking for???
Also has any body had the same problem and how did they stop the Ants from making up Home ???

    Big Ol' Lucky Ol' Al.

As I've said before I don't eat whilst at my computer desk...also my Nanostation Modem which they attacked first is behind the TV and about 3 meters from my desk.

I had them ruin a motherboard a few years ago. I think they have taken out my video card this time around. They like something inside but I can't say for sure what it is.

Perhaps there was a dead cockroach or jing-jok inside and they decided to have it for lunch.

Any old dry seminal liquid around the monitor? Just wondering if Troller had been using it behind your back?

Just out of the joys of living in Thailand, ants love to track up the side of your pile and come back down via the wiring then enter your home via the switch or plug sockets.

A lot of punters don't realise this when they build their dream pile in the middle of the animals /insects territory.

You either accept it and live alongside them or come to your senses beforehand.

DETTOL mixed with water in a spray bottle.... they hate it, gives them chemical burns ,... kills them, stops their trace and definitely keeps them away. House will smell like a hospital, but so what...

Certainly environmentally friendly than Chemical aerosol sprays

Ants I can handle..often crawling over laptop ( body sweat/grease on keyboard methinks)
Often have to strip down laser and ink jet printers to vacuum out mud wasp nests ,gecko eggs and poop....
Suspect ants in your desk top and modem going after bugs of the legged sort.

Little container of boric acid with sugar water and some old cooking oil is quite effective as an attractant and ant killer.

Impossible to stop them. Like ants you learn to live with them or perish...

Most local market hardware type stalls/mom&pop sell little packets of white powder for ants. Put a few small piles around your equipment and they will be all gone in a day.

I think I have a gecko living under my printer. Evidence by gecko poo but I have no ants!
Better to think inside the pub, than outside the box?
