Just bought my first Apple product. I got it synched thru iTunes with my Win 7 music files (13 GB out of a total available space of 16 GB). It comes with a 2.5-inch (diagonal) widescreen Multi-Touch display (240-by-432-pixel resolution at 202 pixels per inch). It can play movies (about 1 or two before recharging is necessary as video battery life is 3.5 hours, music battery life is supposedly 30 hours). It comes in a small box which contains only the Nano, earphones I don't find very exciting--no extra tips, they don't fit very well. So bought a pair of ear-over Marshall Monitor headphones. The box also comes with a quick-start guide and a USB-to-iPod ports (2.0 or 3.0) battery charge cable. It can only be charged on a computer or a separately available Apple adapter that connects to any 2 prong electrical outlet. The price at the Apple store in Kad Suan Kaew was 5500 THb for the iPod and the Marshals Monitor headphones cost 7500 THB. No negotiation or discounts. Prices were on the box---plus tax and are not much lower than you would find in the USA.
Anyway, after charging the iPod, I can't hear music playing on it. There are no speakers so ear or headphones are the only option. The songs are obviously playing as the song details show on the monitor. I tried my Marshall's first and noticed the plug seemed to fit most of the way but not so far into the jack that the metal connector was completely inside the headphone jack. I didn't push it with all my strength for fear of breakage but almost. Same with the provided earphones. I'll be taking it back to the store to see what they can do about it.
Who uses MP3 players anymore?
