PGP encryption. Does anyone know how to use this stuff ?

i followed all the instructions on the Open PGP Studio vid and I still can't get this stuff figured out. I can encrypt a simple notepad file but I can't decrypt it. The files look crazier then normal too. They have Chinese and Arabic characters in them

That's just the names of the people accessing your 'encrypted' files; no need to worry yourself about that...

All my work laptops have PGP whole disk encryption.

Once installed it takes a few hours to encrypt the entire disk and from then on you need to provide your windows password at the start of the boot process (the passwords are synched whenever you change your win password).

Once windows is booted the machine behaves as normal.

If the HDD was taken out of the machine and accessed without the password the entire file system would be unreadable.

it sounds like he wants to send encrypted emails rather than use an encrypted container

Why use a third party product when BitLocker is built in?
