    How to stop Linkedin spam

I have been receiving Linkedin spam for about a month now. I have sent them numerous emails requesting, demanding and downright irate rants about their continued spam in my box.

I've never signed up for Linkedin nor would I ever consider such a thing. Seems my friends added me to their list of possible customers or else Linkedin got hold of their email address and now spam everyone on them.

Linkedin has been taken to court over their spamming, but beat it through the liberal justice system in the USA saying everyonne has rights and violating your email box with useless spam is perfectly alright.

Anyone else have this affliction? I have looked for links to abort their connection to my gmail but to no avail.

^I took your approach for a while but its become increasingly more irritating. Like its my email box not theirs. there should be a way to block unwanted spammers like Linkedin.

    Gmail does.
Just flag the sender as a spammer and gmail trashes it..

Even though it goes into your trash box it remains in your account. Dump your trash in gmail to get it completely out of your account.

Whats a good alternative to Google...I want out! Got out of MS for the reason of multiple virus attacks. I want a safe non-invasive site.

In most email hosts (gmail, hotmail, outlook etc) you can label anything that has linkedin in the address or subject as junk / or delete immediately. Have a fiddle about - it is a piece of piss with Outlook and gmail. You can select your bin to empty immediately as well (keep for 0 days) on gmail.

I ended up blocking the whole domain for 3000 users because most people were getting "Linked" from wobblyheads looking for a job.

    Yeah..
There is a tab within one's gmail account to filter such spam/ads.

The first couple of times the offending incoming message will go directly to trash/spam.....after a short time it will stop coming up entirely.

LinkedIn is one of the worst fucking offenders.
One doesn't even have to be registered with them - their software recognizes friends and family that are members, therefore directing crap your way.

When someone signs up to Linkedin they can click a button to send all of the contacts from their email an invite.

Seems like that's what happening to you.

What kind of jerk would do that? Evidently a lot of jerks out there. I'm going to try the "spammer," button and see if this is the cure. Just deleted three more of the linkedin spam earlier.

many softwares and websites do it automatically - facebook etc

when the user signs up , unless they deselect a checkbox , their username and password will be used to attempt to login to various webmail accounts and then all the contacts will be harvested.

the boss of a major contractor signed up to a south african dating website and then all his business contacts were then sent emails telling them to join etc .he has always been a total fcukwit and I have refused to deal with him for years -

I had to set up a rule in my business outlook account that automatically binned emails from the spamming address
If you torture data for enough time , you can get it to say what you want.

Interesting Baldrick. I just read an article about Linkedin facing another lawsuit over their harvesting clients data and supplying it to their employers. Seems Linkedin is also a big source for job applicant screening data.

I figure anyone with a Facebook or other social media account better have a pretty clean entry page.

Pretty soon employers will be doing searches of applicants computer habits as well as already tracking present employees on their computers. NSA opened the doors to everyone.

^That appears to be a pay for use site? I don't use credit cards. Mainly cause I don't have any. I'll look into Mobilism.org further.

    Thanks,

watchout for the popups and de select any checkbox that talks about using the sites downloader - these are just file storage sites - the mobilism forum just contains links - it does not cost money to join
