    Ipad extra memory ????

I still am faffing around in my mind between a new ( yet to be released ) iPad mini and the Samsung Galaxy note 8" ,, TBH , I think I am slowly moving toward the iPad.

The one thing that puts me off is the amount of storage memory ,, does anyone know if there is yet any extra external way of storing memory for the iPad ?

Is there some kinda ipluginthingy ?? or am I gonna have to learn the hemmaroid system ??
I'm proud of my 38" waist , also proud I have never done drugs

I think the new ones will go up to 128gb. Do you reckon that won't be enough?

^ Gotcha mate. As far as I'm aware there's no way to expand their memory. You just need to hook it up to the PC more often to change stuff over.

I want to get a tablet too , but not an expensive one .
I think the ipad and google nexus7 are taking the piss not having a slot to put memory cards into.
Don't think the new ipad will be out for a while , the new nexus maybe a month or two ?
Still probably won't have a card slot .

    So I think I'll get the new Asus MeMo HD 7'' , it's $150 ,
so at todays exchange rate of 1.534242 I should be able to pick one up for £150 when it come out in uk hopefully next month .

arh the pink or the yellow ? decisions decisions....

Why they don't put matt screens on these things I don't know .

what do you want to use it for Nigel ?
Are the ones you're looking at better for running art/ drawing programs ?

No mate the best ones for art are the Galaxy 8" note for sure ,, but its that bloody android system v all the music files pic files etc I have on me Macbook ,, I know you can convert but I,m a bit lazy to learn ,, also as pointed out by some on here I would be better off keeping it Apple,, trouble is Apple stuff does tend to work and you get used to not having to keep looking for files and updates

^ I don't think you need to do much converting for android as they read pretty much all files. It's the other way round, everything has to be converted to mp3/4 and synced with itunes to go on the Apple.

I hate the way Apple products are used to be honest, I much prefer to just plug in an android and drag and drop files straight over, couldn't be simpler. It's just that ipads are the bollox so the itunes shit is worth putting up with.

You can't upgrade the internal memory, but you'll have access to iCloud (which I don't personally use as I don't store any video on my iPad- it's strictly for web-surfing, pictures, and apps- I use my laptop for anything else).

There is a new one coming mate ^ I believe its being released in September just before I go away so I hope to get one then ,, still a pull toward the Note decisons decisions .

From what I gather they regretted releasing the mini they did as they had caved in early when it wasnt really as good as they wanted it to be , I think the new one is 4G compatable + High Def screen amongst other things , for me it would be perfect if it had the little scribe pen like the Note has stuffed up its spine .

BTW thanks for replies / suggestions , last night out the blue I got a call from one of my cousins to let me know his bro is in hospital , just found out he is an Apple man and he has informed me you can somehow use the iPad card reader,s to record back onto an SD card , so if thats the case it could well be problem solved , no doubt it will be a different fitting for the new iPad when Apple cotton on , although I guess soon enough someone will make one for the new one

I had an old iPhone 3 which 'drowned' whilst I was out cycling. I hung off replacing it until the iPhone 5 came out last year (just using an old Nokia in the meantime).

When it did come out, I compared it with the Samsung Galaxy S3, and opted for the Galaxy. I should also say that I was typically all things Apple, having an iMac, MacBook Air, and a clutch of iPods. No need to convert anything to move movies/music to Android, and as someone else pointed out, you have to convert everything to Mp3/4 to get it onto iTunes. The memory on the Galaxy (as on the Note) can be expanded by up to 64 gig, plus you can access the battery. Brilliant piece of kit, and don't regret not getting the iPhone for one minute. Love not having to load everything through iTunes that's for sure.

The only regret that I do have is not waiting for the Galaxy S4 which came out in May. My wife's just got one and that is truly superb.

I think it worth mentioning though that the Note 8 is I think wi-fi only. You need to go for the 10" Tablet if you want 3G.

Thanks for that one Rigger ,, another idea to contemplate ,, looks a nice bit of kit .

Do you have to power it to stream ? or does it have an internal battery to drive it ?

see google just unvieled thier new nexus 7 tablet,
looks like it has a super sharp screen , no SD card slot again ?....

Do you really notice the difference with 1920 screen rather than a 1280 when you use it for a while ?
