I have just went an bought a Christmas present for a dear friend - it is a Lenovo Z480, the model number is 59344682.
It has the core i5 processor, 3210m 2.5ghz. 1 TB Hard drive, 4GB of RAM. I bought it today from the Airport Plaza IT City, it was on special offer from 23,000 or so down to 19,990 - plus I got a free mouse, carry case and cleaning kit.
I haven't even finished charging it up yet and I get a call from IT City asking me to return it as they have given me the wrong one?
It looks fine to me and appears exactly as advertised, how can it be the wrong one? I have checked the model number on the case and everything is as I asked.
The problem I have is my Thai is not that good, and the man from IT City doesn't really speak that good English.
I am happy with the present, I don't want to have to have someone drive me back to the city and cost me another 750 Baht.
I can only imagine that because they phoned me they have lost some money, and are not exactly bending over backwards to help me out. I suspect (maybe when I get it charged and running) that it may be a better model than they had on offer.
Does anyone know where I stand on this? I cannot see that I have to return it to them, at my expense if it is their mistake. They should collect it, also what happens if I pay for a copy of Windows 8 and install it - I cannot then transfer that to my replacement? I would imagine that the minimum would be changing over the hard drives - infuriating - these sales people are standing around with nothing to do in the Airport Plaza, watching TV and fiddling with computers, I give them the only sale I see in half an hour and they mess it up!
Any advice thanks.
