Hi,
does anyone know if it is possible for me to use the windows 8 updater to update my windows 7 x32 to windows 8 x64? for the upgrade price of 39.99 rather than me having to go and buy me a complete new installation DVD for more than 130 bucks?

Out of curiosity, can someone please tell me why my location is showing as Bangkok on this post, as I dont live in Bangkok, I am in Thailand but not at this location?

My second question for any of you smart guys out there is regarding a proposed purchase.

I am wondering whether to buy a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 (23,000 Baht) or save a little more and buy the Samsung E500 Mini PC (27,000) don't know that much about computers but it looks like the E500 can run Windows 8, or is that the limited version? Headache or what?

In the past I relied on my BF to help me with these sorts of things but after we had a bit of a fallout it seems it is up to me to decide, I don't want to waste any money as I need to be a bit careful as Christmas isn't too far off and I need to buy presents for family. Any advice is welcomed, thanks guys.

It changes with your post count. Once you get to 1000 you can make it say whatever you like.

You can edit your location - Click on UserCP at the top of the page and then Edit Profile.

In regards to windows I have no idea, sorry.

Thank you anyway, I will try and edit my location - now it seems I am in Pattaya...this is crazy guys! stop doing this to me, I am in Chiang Mai.

I think you'll find 'windows' discs sell for considerably less than that, more like 100 bht!

I have not done it and the upgrade seems not straightforward in that case.

You should find advice on this site how to do it.

BTW welcome to this board and you really can set your actual location only when you have reached 1000 posts. Until then the board software sets it to some location that helps increase the hits of the board on google search.

If you want your location on the board to match your actual location now it is easiest to just move to Pattaya.

Yes and have always the risk of problems with updates. The present offer is so low that you can have a legal copy.
