    Hotmail.com - "oops broken"

whether IE or firefox, i cant access the page...

Firefox: "Problem loading page" - The connection was reset
IE: "Oops! This page appears broken. DNS Error - Server cannot be found."

no big issue, but any ideas what to check?

as opposed to what? gmail or yahoo?

they all do pretty much the same. just a matter of what one has become familiar with and accustomed to. although I have and use both g-mail and hotmail accounts, I do find that the hotmail format is more user friendly and more straight forward.

^ If you got it long ago enough and you can have "Your name at hotmail.com" then it's OK.

These days it has to be .co.uk (if you're signing up in the UK) and you will have to put about 4 numbers after your name to make it original.

right, I did subscribe and establish the hotmail account back in about 1997 and in the US. the restrictions you mention were not in place at that time. I've had no problems and no issues, when I use g-mail, things just don't seem to be as straight forward and the attachments don't seem to be in a logical location. no worries though, it is what one becomes used to.

gmail has an IMAP interface, so you can use outlook or any IMAP email client

fucking HOTMAIL is just a mess, and having an address with HOTMAIL just advertise how much of a retard you are. Of course, nobody will tell you that in your face, but they will think it

Gmail, hotmail, ymail and any other free e-mail are all thought of exactly the same in my experience. If you want or need to be taken seriously you wouldn't use any of them, you would pay for a business one.

Like I said, if you got it in the early days, I think "Davesmith@hotmail.com" looks a lot less bar girl like than "Davesmithy3456@gmail.com"

I also have hotmail with my name@hotmail.com. Yes, I am a old guy.

Regardless, currently I cannot access my hotmail account from my laptop at home. Everywhere else I can...
