Netbook battery: 3 cells about 4 hours. Means?

I was looking at Netbook Asus computers today and under battery it stated:

    3 cells about 4 hours.

Does this mean a total battery life of about 12 hours?

Or does it mean 4 hours.

    (Excuse my ignorance.)

Also, what is you opinion of the Asus Netbook 10.1" models? The reviews seem to be pretty good.

These are the Acer netbooks correct? The small ones.

    I saw these also.

The price is basically the same as the asus netbook.....

I have an Acer as my main laptop (and will buy a new laptop in the US in about 5 months. I want to wait for Windows 8 and the prices in the US are about $100 cheaper or so for laptops. Until then I would be happy with a small netbook.

As my current Acer laptop (which I love) is 6 years old, it's starting to get a little clunky. The CD/dvd player stopped working last week.

I am pretty sure laptops have changed and advanced a lot in 6 years!

Asus seems (note the term "seems" to have a good reputation for netbooks (10.1 inch) so I am leaning toward the Asus.

How big is your screen, thyetym?

I've gotten off-topic on my own thread which was initially about battery life, but thetyme,

Here are the specs from the Amazon best-selling netbook:

    11.6" HD Widescreen CineCrystal™ LED-backlit Display

AMD Dual-Core C-60 Accelerated Processor 1.0GHz with TurboCORE Technology up to 1.33GHz

    Genuine Windows® 7 Home Premium

    320GB Hard Drive

    4GB DDR3 Memory

ATI Radeon™ HD 6290 Graphicswith 256MB of dedicated system memory

    Multi-in-1 Digital Media Card Reader

    802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi CERTIFIED™

    Built-in 0.3 Megapixel HD Webcam

    Two built-in stereo speakers

    3- USB 2.0 Ports

    1- HDMI™ Port

    Full-size Acer FineTip Keyboard

    Multi-Gesture Touchpad

    6-cell Li-ion Battery
It's just a little more expensive that the Asus 10.1 and the screen of this Acer Aspire is 11+"

I am probably better off just buying the Acer Aspire netbook.

    Any opinions? Comments?

P.S. - if we don't have one already I think we should start and sticky a "looking/shopping for/buying a new laptop thread. If....you folks think it's worth doing so.

    3-Cell probably means 4 hours.

    6-cell probably means 8.

You can get 12-cell slot-in replacements on ebay, but you have to make sure they aren't flogging you recycled cells. Ask them the question so you can get the money back if they lie.

BatteryBar will tell you how how much is left.
The next post may be brought to you by my little bitch Spamdreth

You have been one of my favorite posters for a while (but don't tell anyone).
