    I bought a Kyocera FS-730 for under 5k.

It ONLY works with windows though so if you are Linux it's no good

You can get a HP printer with built in scanner for fek all nowadays (expensive carts though). My Epson is pretty good and the ink is much cheaper than HP.

Not sure whether to go for ink or laser, for domestic use.

Actually bought one last week at TukCom, 5k, paid a deposit after moron agreed to install it, next day he calls and says he's on his way but will cost another 500 to install, handed phone to tilac with clear instructions (!), went to pick up the deposit and left him staring between us on the way out and his printer sitting on the shelf instead of having generated a profit, probably wondering where he fecked up.

Back on topic, I think it was an inkjet but not a clue on model, and now ok up to 10k for something that's not gonna have me onto customer services (yikes!) every week. Advice welcomed.

Not sure about the position today but some time ago I worked with a graphics guy who had both Epson and HP. He reckoned that the HP cartridges were more expensive but used the ink more economically.

Are there places were you can get ink cartridges refilled in LOS? - thats fairly common here in UK.

As to installing yourself - if you are using Windows 2k or XP it aint exactly rocket science.
    Lord, deliver us from e-mail.

You can also get aftermarket external ink tanks fitted to new printesrs.

Go to IT city you can buy them already modified there.

I've had both Epson and HP in my time, both happy bunnies and never a day of anguish so I'd be happy with either, but not sure I want one that's made in China, and many at TukCom are.

Ink refills are standard form here but I recall from years gone by reading that if the refilled ink is not good quality it tends to clog up the jets and not sure I'd like to test out that theory.

Um yes, could've done a DIY...reckon it was just me getting pissed off on the principle that moron agreed to do it free, and there I was thinking I've been here long enough to get over these things. Thanks for the reminder.

Yikes, for my printing needs that'd see me through a coupla lifetimes. Still, tilak's already started reviewing her >3000 pics, so it's worth considering. Thanks.
