Everyone and their dog seems to be building websites these days. Unless you have SEO skills it is all pretty pointless. My own website, which I optimise myself, ranks inside the top 250,000 worldwide on Alexa, as does Teakdoor. If you can point to some websites you have designed and which have a high ranking then it would set you apart from the crowd. I do know of a teacher who advertises his own webmaster skills...on a site that ranks in the umpteen-millionth region.
I see fish. They are everywhere. They don't know they are fish.

    Exclamation

Everyone can make sites, build houses, etc, but what about time and quality?
If you don't see diffenence between professional and amateur sites (design, code, usability etc), don't care
Some sites have $10000 US per week and above, they need mainaining, developing, promoting etc every day. Some of them have 50 and more admins/developers/content writers.

Money only matters... Alexa ranking don't make you rich by default.

The guy came asking for advice, and you slate him!

Quite clearly Homa this is the wrong place to be asking such advice as it's usual answered by big headed, arrogant twats!

My advice would be to contact a Job agency who mite point you in the right direction. I'm not sure that type of work you're looking for is in demand here as a foreigner though.
You bullied, you laughed, you lied, you lost!

Actually, I don't think he can get a visa for that job either.

true, but it's pipe dream stuff, it's been answered dozens of times before, Marmite the Dog used to scrape together living doing that and gave it away due to the level of competition.

He may as well have suggested buying a bar....

Despite the bluntness in some of the posts, there is more than a kernel of truth.

My impression is that its difficult to get work in Thailand. The central essence being that you better have a real skill set that a local hire does not have. Foreigners are (in a context of a company) comparatively difficult, demanding and expensive. There has to be a real reason for a company to put themseleves out, and it is seldom worth it for a set of 'skills" that a local IT/media grad could possibly cover (for a given value of "cover").

Without a real, in demand skill its hard to get work - with the obvious exceptions.

OP might be best put to develop himself as an independent freelance designer in his home country, then transfer that to here.

ha ha this place is ruthless.

I'm not saying the points aren't valid, but, the zero pulling of punches never fails to raise a smile.
