Thansettakij cited a survey by Marketbuzz which found that 56 percent of 977 respondents had purchased from a vending machine within the past month. The primary reason for using the machines was convenience, cited by 72 percent of users. Other key factors included saving time and immediate product availability.
Globally, the retail vending machine market is also on an upward trend. Research firm Grandview Research reported the market was valued at 51.91 billion US dollars in 2021 and projected an annual growth rate of 10.7 percent through 2030.
Businesses are increasingly using vending machines as a new sales channel, with a local health and supplement company recently launching its products in automated kiosks at a mall in Bangkok to offer easy payment and access.
