in another thread about my koi pond filter the idea was raised about a timer, I looked on Amazon and ordered the following outdoor smart electric plug .

you don't necessarily need that one , there are others, such as smart switches, where the switch in the receptacle can be replaced (I have them in my Florida home) and activated from anywhere in the world
The Idea is that lights and or appliances can be activated to make it look like the house is occupied.
