Wall Painting!

OK... here's what some of you have been waiting for - the external painting of the upper floor.

Remember... we were trying to break up the 'slab' side of a 2-storey structure, we wanted a traditional look, building it in wood did not go with our aimn to make this 21st century standards with 19th century traditional appearance.

I had the idea to clad the upper floor to break the house into two distincvt levels, in a design often seen with a concrete base level and a timber top floor and roof.

You have all seen the cladding base material but now we have to make it look more authentic...

Let's see if i can get some better ones...

I was not actually happy with these - looks OK from distance, see pic 2 but can see too many over-brush strokes.

painter admitted he rushed it trying to get ready foer the camera.

you can see here the base coat prep - the unpainted area on the right, the base coat on the left

yes - the brush marks spoil the effect... he's re-doing it

You get the idea though - from a little distance it carries the effect as planned

Building up the colour....

He actually completely re-did this bit even after these remedials

She's applying that base coat

Better but not 100%
