Anyone know of any? Have friends arriving this weekend for flying visit and this fucking stupid practice of the Thai has proved rather more irksome than usual.

I would imagine not. No alcohol for sale in convenience stores or supermarkets on Sunday.
everything open in the village
Well, for that matter one can drink in fucking Timbuctoo but it's no fucking use if we're in Bangkok, is it.
Take them to a restaurant Gent, they are still allowed to serve booze
These threads are amusing. Is it really that difficult to have a good time without alcohol? You've got more problems than silly sales laws if that's the case.
That being said I got caught out myself a little while back with the sales hours when trying to buy a bottle of wine. Which was a little annoying.
Stupid annoying law. Same as the daily hours.
Shoppng centre near me follows the rules, but the same centre has a wine shop that does not?
All the convieniance stores do, but the M&P next door is fine.

Thank you to those for the info.
Problem was, we booked the German Tawandang for the Sunday night after a day of sightseeing but it seems they are dry. We aren't alcoholics but it is their first and only full day here en route elsewhere and is in effect their first day of their holiday. I would consider it a failing in my duty as host not to be able to offer them a reasonable time without the inconvenience of a fucking stupid chicken head law which has absolutely no fucking relevance to anything.
But as a vivid demonstration of what Thai stupidity means it can scarcely be bettered.

In the worst case scenario ice encrusted beers can be had 24/7 365 at this joint.
You could take your friends on an interesting tour of Khlong Toei
^unusual name
Look for bars/restaurants with suspicious numbers of Farang drinking from Ovaltine mugs.
best to stock up @ 7/11 before they arrive.
if inebriation is the aim, then the hip flask is a friend. if conviviality is the goal, then a restaurant in a good hotel would be the best choice, might be a bit tough on thegents apparently shallow pockets though, but as a good host i'm sure he will be happy to take the hit.Have friends arriving this weekend for flying visit and this fucking stupid practice of the Thai has proved rather more irksome than usual.
bottoms up.
Just a thought
I live on the border of Bangkok and Nontaburi (Ngam Wong Wan and Bang Khen). In Nontaburi it is business as usual but in Bang Khen (the other side of the road) it is a dry zone.
So just pop into Nontaburi for a bevvy
Bars are allowed to open at 6pm on Sunday........
4/5 Star Hotels like the Imperial Queens Park Soi 22 have closed their bars.
